YRP Announces Presidential Candidates for 747 Municipalities, Including 3 Major Provinces
The Re-Welfare Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan has announced the mayoral candidates for the upcoming elections. In a program held at Ankara Atatürk Sports Hall, Erbakan emphasized the importance of ‘moral municipalism’ in the election manifestos. He also highlighted the successes achieved in the 1989 local elections, which enabled the party to govern the largest cities of the country in 1994.
Erbakan criticized three mentalities of municipalism – profit municipalism, sculptor municipalism, and organizer municipalism – and stated that these are the result of a moral problem in the administration. He expressed the need for a new and clean understanding of municipality in Turkish politics.
Furthermore, Erbakan mentioned that the success of the Re-Welfare Party in the upcoming elections will pave the way for the party’s power in 2028. He also announced the candidates for a total of 747 municipalities, including 25 metropolitan municipalities, 45 provinces, 556 districts, and 121 towns. The party’s candidates for the Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir Metropolitan Municipalities were revealed to be Mehmet Altınöz, Suat Kılıç, and Cemal Arıkan, respectively.
Overall, the announcement of the mayoral candidates and the election declaration reflects the Re-Welfare Party’s commitment to a new and fair administration for the benefit of the nation.
