Turkish Election Board Declares Muharrem İnce’s Withdrawal from Presidential Candidacy Valid
The Turkish Supreme Election Board (YSK) announced that the withdrawal of Mr. Muharrem İnce from the presidential candidacy was valid after the 1st vote. The decision was reached after an evaluation of the regulation made in the 12th article of the Presidential Election Law No. 6271, which states that the withdrawal will not be valid after the announcement in the Official Gazette on the candidate list, and the relevant articles of the 298th law of the legal number 6271.
The YSK Chairman, Yener, explained that the votes given to Mr. Muharrem İnce should be accepted as valid in this process. The decision was reached after a board meeting held earlier today.
