Zelenskiy: NATO invite boosts Ukraine’s diplomatic standing
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy held a joint press conference at NATO headquarters in Brussels after the first day sessions of the NATO Defense Ministers Meeting. Rutte highlighted the participation of partners from Asia-Pacific and the European Union in the meetings and expressed concerns about China’s involvement in Russia’s war against Ukraine. Zelenskiy emphasized the importance of NATO membership for Ukraine, stating that it is a fundamental point in their Victory Plan. He highlighted the support his country receives from various nations in terms of weaponry and called for fulfilling the promised 40 billion euros at the Washington Summit. Zelenskiy also stressed the need for increased training missions to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
In response to a question about Ukraine’s survival, Zelenskiy underscored the importance of unity with partners. Rutte reassured that NATO will not lose its unity, sending a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Both leaders reiterated their commitment to standing together against any threats to their unity.
