According to the latest evaluations made by the General Directorate of Meteorology, the weather across the country is expected to be partly cloudy, with chances of very cloudy weather in western Marmara, southern and coastal Aegean. The Mediterranean region and areas around Gaziantep, Adıyaman, and Kilis are expected to experience rainy conditions.
Heavy precipitation is anticipated in the coastal Aegean, southern parts of Çanakkale, the western coastal parts of Balıkesir, and the western districts of Antalya, likely in the form of rain and showers. In the Toroslar Mevkii, the precipitation may be mixed with sleet and occasionally snowfall.
Haze and occasional fog are expected in the central and eastern parts of the country, with an avalanche danger in the inner portions of the Eastern Black Sea Region and in the north and east of Eastern Anatolia.
According to the latest information and evaluations from the Meteorology department, heavy rain is expected in the Mediterranean Region. The forecast for the night hours of Monday, January 15 suggests potential heavy showers and thunderstorms in various areas, with heavy sleet and snow expected at higher altitudes.
A yellow and orange code alarm has been issued for 25 cities, with provinces such as Antalya, Aydın, Balıkesir, Mersin, İzmir, Manisa, and Muğla falling under the orange code warning.
Meteorology Advisor Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen has issued a warning, particularly for the western districts of Antalya, urging citizens to take precautionary measures to prevent flooding and other associated risks. He also mentioned the possibility of heavy showers and 100 kg of rain in certain districts, emphasizing the need for vigilance.
As for potential snowfall, Şen advised that while cold weather is expected in Marmara, the situation is subject to change and should be monitored closely in the coming days.
