115 Irregular Migrants Intercepted on 4 Rubber Boats Near Izmir Coast
Coast Guard Command intercepts 115 irregular migrants in Aegean Sea
Coast Guard Command teams have successfully detected and intercepted multiple instances of irregular migration in the Aegean Sea recently. On August 7, a moving rubber boat carrying 24 irregular migrants, including 1 child, was spotted off the coast of Çeşme district. Thanks to the Coast Guard Mobile Radar, the teams were able to swiftly respond and bring the migrants to safety.
Additionally, on the same day, 3 more moving rubber boats were intercepted by coast guard teams off the coast of Seferihisar district. In total, 91 irregular migrants, with 18 of them being children, were rescued from these boats. The quick actions of the Coast Guard Command teams have prevented a potentially dangerous situation for these individuals risking their lives in search of a better future.
After being brought ashore, the irregular migrants were taken to the Provincial Directorate of Immigration Administration for further processing. The authorities continue to closely monitor the Aegean Sea to prevent illegal migration attempts and ensure the safety of all individuals involved.
