Istanbul Police Department Launches Operation to Apprehend PKK Terrorist Suspects
In breaking news, the Istanbul Police Department’s Anti-Terrorism Branch and Intelligence Branch directorates have begun working to detain individuals with ties to the PKK armed terrorist organization. Authorities have identified and located suspects connected to the PYD/YPG branch of the organization who have been facilitating the transfer of personnel to rural areas on behalf of the PKK.
Earlier studies conducted by the police found that some individuals, whose images were captured during their time with the terrorist organization and mentioned in statements made by detained members, were featured in digital materials. The police have worked tirelessly to identify the suspects and their addresses, culminating in the launch of simultaneous operations at 19 different locations in 11 districts.
During the raid operation, 16 suspects were apprehended, with a gun and various digital materials seized from their residences.
