
19th Akbank Short Film Festival Awards Winners Announced

Winners Announced at 9th Akbank Short Film Festival
The 9th Akbank Short Film Festival, which included the Akbank Art competition, took place from May 2nd to May 12th. A total of 2237 short films from 71 countries applied for the competition, which was organized in two different categories: national and international.
Presenter and actor Ceyda Duvenci hosted the 19th Akbank Short Film Festival Award Ceremony, which took place on May 12th. The jury members included Beren Saat, Ekin Koç, Berkay Ateş, Pınar Deniz, Saki Çimen, Emre Kayiş, and Ali Aga, and the event was attended by many guests from the world of cinema.
The Best Short Film Award in the National Competition Festival Shorts Section went to Kasım Ördek’s “Together, Alone”. The Honorable Mention Award in the same category was given to Sis Gürdal’s “End of Summer” and Turan Haste’s “Moisture”. In the International Competition Shorts from the World Section, Mo Harawe’s “Will My Parents Come to See Me?” won the Best Short Film Award, while the Honorable Mention Award went to Valerio Ferrara’s “A Conspiracy Man” and Abinash Bikram Shah’s “Mother’s Sad Lullabies”. The Best Short Film Award in the Young Glances Section was won by İpek Karan’s “E-Emotion”, and the Honorable Mention Award was given to Andaç Bertuğ Şimşek’s “Admission”.
The Forum Section Best Short Film Script Award was awarded to Cansu Baydar for his screenplay “Almost Absolutely Wrong”. Koray Arıgümüş’s “The Dream of Our Life Because It Sines into Things” won the Honorable Mention Award in the same category.
The festival and competition provided an excellent platform for young and aspiring filmmakers to showcase their work and gain recognition in the industry.
