2 Arrested in Ankara Smuggling Scheme
Two Suspects Detained for Smuggling Goods
In a recent operation carried out by the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Branch Directorate, two suspects were detained for attempting to sell customs smuggled goods. The Provincial Gendarmerie Command’s statement revealed that the suspects were under physical and technical surveillance, leading to their apprehension.
A variety of items were seized during the operation, including 50 thousand macarons, 3 thousand 574 packs of cigarettes, 146 kilograms of tobacco, 129 electronic cigarettes, 440 clothing and accessory items, 138 various electronic items, and 256 hardware items.
The suspects, identified as MT and AG, are currently in custody as the investigation continues. The authorities are working to uncover the full extent of the smuggling operation and bring those responsible to justice. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
