37 Irregular Immigrants Rescued Off Izmir’s Coast

The Turkish Coast Guard Command recently rescued a total of 66 irregular immigrants, including 12 children, in separate incidents off the coast of Turkey.

In one instance, a team was dispatched to assist a rubber boat with immigrants that was drifting off the coast of Karaburun due to engine failure. The Coast Guard successfully rescued 30 individuals from the boat.

Additionally, off the coast of Çeşme, the Coast Guard boat rescued 7 irregular immigrants who were found on a life raft that had been pushed into Turkish territorial waters by Greek forces.

In a separate incident, a group of irregular immigrants were discovered in a rubber boat off the coast of Urla. Coast Guard teams intercepted the boat and managed to rescue 29 individuals, including 8 children.

Following the rescue operations, the immigrants were taken to the Provincial Directorate of Immigration Management for further processing.
