Coast Guard catches 73 irregular migrants off the coast of Fethiye
The Coast Guard Command has reported that a Coast Guard Boat was dispatched to a region following a distress call regarding a rubber boat carrying irregular immigrants that had drifted off the coast of the district due to engine failure. The emergency response led to the rescue of 34 irregular migrants, including 3 children, on board the distressed vessel. Additionally, one suspect was arrested on charges of migrant smuggling.
In another incident, a total of 39 irregular immigrants, with 12 children among them, were intercepted by the Coast Guard Boat during separate operations off the coast of the district. Following the necessary procedures, all irregular migrants were transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
