Provincial Police Department Cracks Down on Smuggling Activities
The Provincial Police Department’s Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch teams have recently stepped up efforts to tackle smuggling activities in various areas. In a recent operation conducted in the city center, Kağızman, and Sarıkamış districts, the teams managed to apprehend 8 suspects involved in illegal smuggling activities.
During the operation, a thorough search of the suspects’ homes and workplaces led to the discovery of a significant amount of contraband goods. Among the items seized were 60 bottles of fake alcoholic beverages, 430 packs of customs-smuggled cigarettes, 2 thousand filled macarons, 4 mobile phones, and 2 kilograms of hookah tobacco.
The successful operation highlights the department’s commitment to combating illegal activities such as smuggling.
