Yalova Police Department Detects Prison Escapee Attempting to Flee Abroad

The Yalova Police Department’s Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM), Intelligence, and Sea Port Branch Directorate teams have made a significant breakthrough in a case involving a prison escapee. D.T., who had been sentenced to 8 years and 4 months for drug trafficking, was found attempting to leave the country through Yalova RoRo Port.

It has been discovered that D.T. was brought from Bingöl by human trafficking organizers FK and ET. Additionally, two port workers, MA and R.İ., used their personnel entry cards in exchange for 8 thousand euros to aid D.T. in his escape abroad.

The investigation revealed that MA and R.İ. had assisted D.T. in hiding among the cargo, facilitating his illicit departure. Subsequently, all four suspects were detained, with MA and R.İ. apprehended in Yalova, while FK was captured in Istanbul and ET in Bingöl by the Bingöl KOM Branch Directorate teams.

Following interrogation at the police station, the four suspects were transferred to the courthouse and subsequently arrested for their involvement in aiding and abetting D.T.’s escape attempt.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat organized crime and ensure the safety and security of the community. The Yalova Police Department continues to work diligently to uphold the law and bring perpetrators to justice.
