9th Annual Freshwater Herb Culture Festival – BRTK

The 9th Ot Culture Festival was held today in the village square of Tatlısu, organized by the Tatlısu Municipality with final organization contributions. This festival, which celebrates nature and promotes the use of renewable herbs for a healthy lifestyle, also featured cultural arts, fun activities, and concerts throughout the day.

The event kicked off with the reading of the National Anthem followed by a speech from Tatlısu Mayor Hayri Orçan. The festival also included performances by the Tatlısu Municipality Folk Dance team and speeches from special guests. Türkiye’s Ambassador to Nicosia, Ali Murat Başçeri, commended the beauty of the Tatlısu region and its development over the years. President Ersin Tatar echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the need to protect the region’s nature, environment, and culture.

President Tatar discussed the challenges posed by climate change and global water scarcity, highlighting the importance of collaboration between countries to address these issues. He expressed hope for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing Geneva talks and emphasized the importance of cooperation between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots for the benefit of both countries.

The festival also featured performances by popular Turkish artists, including Seyyal Taner, Arda Gündüz, Kadir Gündüz, and Koçubey Da. The event was a celebration of culture, nature, and community, bringing together people from all walks of life to enjoy a day of festivities and entertainment.
