Fire Breaks Out in Abandoned Kindergarten Building in Bishkek
On April 16, a fire broke out in an abandoned kindergarten building located at the intersection of Chui Avenue and Gogol Street in Bishkek. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the fire was quickly extinguished by one fire brigade that was sent to the scene. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
The building, which used to house a kindergarten for 300 children, was previously part of the garment factory named after 40 Years of October – Aigul JSC. However, it was later removed from the factory’s balance sheet and sold to private individuals.
Now, according to residents of nearby houses, homeless people are living in the abandoned building. The situation highlights the issue of neglected properties in the city and the challenges of illegal property transfers. Authorities will need to address these issues to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Stay tuned for updates on the investigation into the cause of the fire and any further developments regarding the abandoned kindergarten building in Bishkek.
