A Delegation from Uzbekistan Visits China to Strengthen Partnership

From February 29 to March 1 of this year, the delegation of the government of Uzbekistan visited the Chinese city of Kashgar to further strengthen partnership relations between the two countries.

During the visit, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov held a bilateral meeting with Ma Xinjui, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the secretary of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. The meeting highlighted the friendly and multifaceted partnership relations between Uzbekistan and China, emphasizing the importance of the close ties between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President Xi Jinping.

Trade between Uzbekistan and China reached a record level of nearly $14 billion in 2023, and efforts are being made to increase this figure to $20 billion in the near future. Discussions during the meeting focused on implementing high-level agreements, importing modern technology and equipment, and exporting various products such as textiles, copper, mineral fertilizers, and agricultural goods.

The delegation also discussed ways to enhance cooperation in transport-logistics, energy, and cultural-humanitarian projects. Both countries see numerous opportunities for further collaboration and are committed to strengthening their partnership for mutual benefit.
