Advancements in Turkmenistan’s Healthcare Laboratory Services Discussed at Orient Conference

The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, in collaboration with the World Health Organization Country Office in Turkmenistan, recently organized a meeting to discuss the progress of implementing the “Operational Plan for the Development of the Laboratory Service in the Healthcare Sector of Turkmenistan for the period 2022-2024”. The meeting also aimed to develop a new action plan to enhance the capacity of the national laboratory service in the healthcare sector.

Members of the National Working Group on Laboratory Services from various organizations such as the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the State Service “Turkmenstandartlary”, the State Standardization Center, the State Veterinary Service, and medical professionals from different regions attended the meeting. These regions included Arkadag, Akhal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap, and Mary.

The new action plan will build upon the achievements of the current plan and outline strategic priorities for the upcoming years. The event received support from the project “Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response under the ‘One Health’ Initiative in Central Asian countries”.

This meeting signifies the commitment of Turkmenistan to enhance its healthcare system, particularly in the laboratory service sector. The collaboration with the World Health Organization demonstrates the importance of global partnerships in promoting public health initiatives.
