Reconstruction of Aikol Manas Monument Begins in Bishkek

The reconstruction of the Aikol Manas monument has started on the central Ala-Too square in Bishkek, as reported by the press service of the capital’s City Hall.

The project aims to renovate and modernize the statue, as well as improve its design and appearance. The main stages of the reconstruction include the complete renovation of the pedestal-monument and strengthening the basement structures.

During the reconstruction process, the Manas monument will be temporarily moved to storage. The City Hall assures that the work is being carried out in accordance with the approved project and technical requirements, with a focus on preserving the cultural significance of the monument as a symbol of national heritage.

Unveiled on August 31, 2011, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Aikol Manas monument was created by Bazarbai Sydykov. Standing at a height of 17.5 meters, the monument holds great historical and cultural significance for the people of Kyrgyzstan.
