Al Green Plans to Introduce Articles of Impeachment Against Trump Within 30 Days
Rep. Al Green from Texas has announced his plan to bring articles of impeachment against President Trump in the next 30 days. Speaking at an anti-Trump rally in Washington, Green expressed his belief that Trump does not deserve to hold the executive office.
Addressing protestors at D.C.’s “Hands Off!” rally, Green emphasized the need for a Senate that would convict Trump this time. Despite acknowledging Trump’s power and control, Green asserted that he, as a “David,” would challenge the “Goliath” president.
Green had previously vowed to bring articles of impeachment against Trump approximately two months ago. He argued that Trump’s actions indicate he is not fit to hold the office he occupies.
During a speech on the House floor on Feb. 5, Green announced his intention to file articles of impeachment after Trump suggested the U.S. should take over the Gaza Strip.
The congressman’s bold statement at the rally signals his determination to hold President Trump accountable for his actions and his belief that justice must be served in the face of wrongdoing.
