All Political Parties Approved for Uzbekistan’s Parliamentary Elections
The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Uzbekistan has announced that all registered political parties have been granted permission to participate in the upcoming elections for the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local councils.
A total of five political parties have met the necessary requirements and have been authorized to compete in the elections. These parties include the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businesspeople — Liberal Democratic Party, the “Milliy Tiklanish” (National Revival) Democratic Party, the Ecological Party, the People’s Democratic Party, and the “Adolat” (Justice) Social Democratic Party.
In accordance with Article 69 of the Election Code, the order in which these political parties will appear on the ballot will be determined by the sequence in which their applications were received and approved by the CEC. This sequence will also dictate the arrangement of party names and symbols on the election ballots for both the Legislative Chamber and local councils.
The CEC has emphasized that this process is conducted with transparency and fairness, ensuring that each party has an equal opportunity to present its platform to the voters. This decision aims to promote a democratic electoral process and allows for a diverse range of political voices to be heard in the upcoming elections.
