Altynbek Kylychbaev elected as Parliament deputy in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, September 27, 2024 – Altynbek Kylychbaev has emerged as the winner of the early elections for a deputy of the Parliament in Suzak constituency No. 13, as announced by the Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan (CEC).

Out of the 15 candidates initially registered for the mandate, seven candidates participated in the early elections. A total of 21,057 voters, representing 16.92 percent of those included in the voter lists in the constituency, cast their votes.

Altynbek Kylychbaev secured the highest number of votes, with 10,174 (48.32 percent), leading to his recognition as a deputy of the Parliament by the Central Election Commission.

Kylychbaev, 47, currently serves as the deputy director of the Jalal-Abad sanatorium. He previously ran for Parliament in 2015 as the second candidate on the Respublika Ata Zhurt party’s list. Despite the party’s success in entering the Parliament, Kylychbaev was excluded from the list along with over 50 other candidates following the elections.

The early elections to fill the vacant deputy seat were held on September 22 after MP Tazabek Ikramov, the previous representative of this constituency, voluntarily relinquished his mandate.
