Amateur Fishermen Rescued by Chance after Being Stranded with their Boats
Four amateur fishermen were rescued after being stranded at sea off the coast of the Sea of Marmara. The incident occurred around 19:00 when the fishermen, identified as YK, AG, B.İ., and Ç.K., experienced engine failure while out fishing in a rowboat.
As the fishermen’s boat started to drift with the current, they found themselves stranded at sea. After approximately 3 hours of drifting, the stranded fishermen were spotted by Fisheries and Aquaculture Department teams who were conducting routine aquaculture inspections in the area.
Fortunately, the fishermen were in good health and their boat was safely towed to the fishing shelter in the Çınarcık district. The rescue was a stroke of luck, as the fishermen were noticed by chance during the routine inspection.
The quick response of the authorities led to the successful rescue of the amateur fishermen, ensuring their safety and well-being. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of being prepared for emergencies while out at sea, and the valuable work carried out by local authorities to ensure the safety of individuals engaging in maritime activities.
