New Police Violence Incident Sparks Outrage in the US
Shocking images of Frank Tyson, a black American man who allegedly died as a result of police violence after escaping from a traffic accident in Canton, Ohio, have surfaced online. The incident, captured on helmet cameras of police officers, quickly drew comparisons to the death of George Floyd in 2020.
In the footage, Tyson can be seen being detained in a cafeteria, placed on the ground, handcuffed backwards, and repeatedly pleading with the police, claiming they were trying to kill him. The distressing moment when Tyson, lying face down on the ground, cried out “I can’t breathe” as the police officer’s knee pressed on his neck, restricting his breathing, was captured on camera.
After a few minutes, the officers realized Tyson was not breathing and started performing CPR before rushing him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Following the tragic incident, the police officers involved were suspended pending investigation.
