Imanov’s professional journey includes roles in the security service of TNK Dastan JSC, heading the Technological Transport Division of Gazprom Neft Asia LLC, serving as Deputy Director for Regime at Ulan JSC, and holding the position of General Director at Polygon CJSC. He also worked as the General Director at Ulan OJSC while concurrently serving as Development Director at TNK Dastan JSC.

In March 2020, Imanov took on the role of Chairman of the Board at TNK Dastan JSC and later transitioned to become the Minister of Digital Development in January 2022. He then became the Director of the National Investment Agency in September 2023 before being appointed as the Special Representative of the President for Special Assignments in April 2025.

Imanov’s wealth of experience and expertise in various sectors make him well-suited for this new role. His appointment comes as part of President Japarov’s efforts to strengthen and streamline special assignments within the government.
