Armenia pulls out of CSTO assistance requests

The CSTO Secretary General, Imangali Tasmagambetov, has stated that Yerevan had previously requested help from the organization and the issue was being evaluated, according to Belta news agency. The Secretary General also mentioned that the Armenian side began to lose interest in the decision and even wanted the issue to be removed from the CSTO agenda.

During a meeting in Minsk, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko also commented on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, stating that it is over and that it is time to think about the future. He mentioned that a positive process is being observed not only in that region but in general in the former Soviet area.

In a related development, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had informed Lukashenko that he would not be attending the CSTO summit to be held in Minsk on November 23. This decision comes amid shifting dynamics surrounding the conflict and the role of the CSTO in the region.
