Arsonist Caught Fleeing from Burning Building – Last Minute Turkey News

A man was caught setting fire to a 6-storey building in Yeni Mahalle Fatih Street. The suspect, identified as MT (50), allegedly used gasoline to start the fire on the terrace floor where he lived. The growing flames and small explosions caught the attention of building residents who quickly reported the incident to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Firefighters, health, and police teams were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the fire and address the situation.

MT attempted to escape by jumping onto a neighbor’s balcony but was caught by citizens. He was then taken to the police station for questioning after being beaten by the angry crowd. Additionally, a cat and a dog were trapped in the flames but were successfully rescued by firefighters.

The fire, which engulfed the entire terrace floor, was eventually extinguished by the fire brigade using a telescopic ladder. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire and to pursue necessary legal actions.
