Tianjin to Host Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit this Autumn
The city of Tianjin, located in northern China, is set to host the next summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) this autumn. This announcement was made by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a press conference held at the 3rd session of the National People’s Congress. The news was reported by Xinhua News Agency.
Wang Yi highlighted the importance of the upcoming summit, stating that it will provide a crucial platform for leaders of the SCO member states to review their joint efforts, discuss future plans, and come to agreements on cooperative matters. He expressed optimism that the Tianjin summit will usher in a new era of enhanced cooperation and a more resilient community with a shared future.
China currently holds the presidency of the SCO and is organizing more than 100 events across various sectors. Wang Yi emphasized the significance of the SCO to China, as it was founded in the country and named after the city of Shanghai.
