Avtepe Medos Tulip Festival Hosted by BRTK Today
The 18th Avtepe Medos Tulip Festival, organized by the Erenköy Karpaz Municipality and Avtepe Mukhtari, took place today in Avtepe Village Square. The festival aims to protect the Medos tulip, an endemic plant, and raise awareness about its conservation.
Various cultural, artistic, and sporting activities were held throughout the day, with a wide range of food and beverages available at festival stands. The event was attended by President Ersin Tatar and Prime Minister Ünal Üsel, who emphasized the importance of preserving the unique nature and cultural heritage of Karpaz.
Minister of Tourism and Environment, Fikri Ataoğlu, highlighted the significance of safeguarding the Medos tulip, stating that it is an essential part of Cyprus’s cultural identity. He encouraged tourists to visit the festival to witness the beauty of the Medos tulips firsthand.
Prime Minister Ünal Üsel commended the efforts to promote economic stability in the region and announced plans for the construction of Pamuklu Hospital and the completion of the Karpaz road. He also addressed the issue of stray donkeys in the area, assuring that a solution would be implemented soon.
