Azerbaijan Leads Turkic Culture Film Collaboration

Azerbaijan has embarked on a groundbreaking project in partnership with the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), marking the first of its kind on the global stage.

The project involves the creation of a film titled “Molla Nasreddin. A Friend of My Difficult Days,” with participation from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. According to AZERTAJ, filming commenced six months ago and is currently underway in Kyrgyzstan.

Ramil Gurban, Head of Public Relations and Marketing at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio, mentioned that upcoming filming locations include Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. The primary objective of the project is to unite Turkic-speaking nations through shared culture and the concept of unity. The film is directed and written by People’s Artist Vagif Mustafayev, who also revealed that filming in Azerbaijan is set for April.

The project aims not only to strengthen cultural bonds among Turkic-speaking populations but also to underscore the significance of a shared cultural heritage.
