Azerbaijani Rowers Shine on Day Two of the President’s Cup 2025
Azerbaijani rowers showcased their talent once again on the second day of the President’s Cup 2025 international tournament, securing five additional medals. The exciting races took place at the Kur Olympic Training and Sports Center in Mingachevir.
Among the noteworthy achievements, Mustafa Valizada clinched a bronze medal in the 500-meter kayak race for athletes born in 2011-2012. In a thrilling display of skill, Alimurad Hajizada earned a silver medal in the same distance category for those born in 2009-2010.
In the doubles category for rowers born in 2011-2012, the duo of Mustafa Valizada and Elmir Tarverdiyev brought home a silver medal. Their teammates, Sanan Jafarzada and Tahir Movsumov, also excelled, securing a bronze medal in the same event.
Additionally, Nurlan Pashayev, competing in the 2006-2007 age group, contributed to the medal tally with a silver medal in rowing.
The tournament is set to conclude on May 2. On the opening day, Azerbaijani athletes had already made their mark by winning three bronze medals in events held in Sugovushan. As the competition progresses, the anticipation builds for even more remarkable performances from Azerbaijani rowers.
