Balıkesir Businessman Produces Gluten-Free and Diabetic-Friendly Wafers
A businessman from Balıkesir produced wafers for celiacs and diabetics
In an innovative move, a businessman from Balıkesir, İsmail Çancı, has started producing wafers made from various fruits and vegetables that are suitable for celiacs and diabetics. The products are even set to be included in the bags of astronauts for space travel.
The wafers are being produced in a freeze-drying facility located in Burhaniye Şahinler village, where fruits and vegetables are dried. These products have been exported to countries like Germany, Dubai, and England for two years.
In addition to traditional dried fruits and vegetables, the company has recently started to obtain innovative products through research and development studies. The new wafers are gluten-free and vegan, making them suitable for celiac patients. Furthermore, they do not contain added sugar, making them safe for diabetic patients to consume.
The most recent addition to the product line is wafers made from buffalo colostrum, called colostrum. The company aims to export these products to space in the near future, with the goal of including them in the astronaut lunchboxes on the next space trip.
Damla Ciplioğlu, who works in the business, shared her experience with the natural wafers, saying, “I have been working in this factory for 3 months. I tried to lose weight with natural methods. I lost weight thanks to the naturally produced wafers here. I recommend it to everyone for a healthy lifestyle.”
The company’s goal is to continue exporting their products from Burhaniye to the whole world, including space. This innovative approach is not only beneficial for those with dietary restrictions, but also for those looking for healthy snack options.
