Bayraktar TB2 UAV Makes History with Barrel Roll Maneuver
The Bayraktar TB2 UAV has once again made its mark in world aviation history with its latest achievement. During maneuver tests, the Bayraktar TB2 successfully performed a barrel roll maneuver, following a spiral orbit and turning a full circle around its own axis.
This impressive maneuver showcases the advanced autonomy and aerodynamic capabilities of the Bayraktar TB2, making it the first and only UAV in the world to successfully execute such a maneuver. The historical moment was captured by another Bayraktar TB2, as well as the Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA which had just returned from an ammunition shooting test in Konya.
During the test, the Bayraktar TB2 attempted the barrel roll maneuver autonomously three times, successfully completing each attempt. The barrel roll, considered one of the most important escape maneuvers for fighter jets, has never been achieved by any UAV before.
In the barrel roll maneuver, the aircraft follows a spiral route while performing a horizontal corkscrew movement in the sky. This groundbreaking achievement solidifies the Bayraktar TB2’s position as a leader in UAV technology and innovation.
