Beykoz Municipality Launches Operation to Start Expression Procedures – Breaking News from Turkey
The Beykoz Municipality is currently embroiled in a scandal involving allegations of mischief in a tender process. The Mayor, Alaattin Köseler, along with 21 other suspects, is under investigation for their involvement in the alleged misconduct.
The Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is looking into the matter, with 17 individuals being investigated for their roles in establishing an organization aimed at committing mischief and other crimes. Additionally, four suspects, including Mayor Köseler, are facing charges related to the tender process.
The Istanbul Police Department’s Financial Crimes Branch Directorate is actively pursuing leads in the case, with investigations into the suspects now underway.
Alaattin Köseler, born in 1960 in Paşabahçe, has a background in architecture and has been serving as Mayor of Beykoz since 1999. He is a member of the TMMOB and has a history of involvement in local sports as the president of Beykoz Sports Club.
Köseler’s career in architecture includes work as a construction site and project manager in various construction companies before establishing his own office. He has also pursued further education, earning a master’s degree in Interior Architecture from Mimar Sinan University.
