Biden’s Declining Vote Numbers Since October 7

A recent poll conducted by NBC News and Public Opinion Strategies has shown a decrease in support for President Biden among young Democrats and a shift in the public’s opinion on his handling of foreign policy issues.
The survey, conducted from November 10-14, revealed that only 40 percent of respondents approved of Biden’s actions as President. This decline in support was particularly evident among young voters aged 18-34, with only 31 percent expressing approval of Biden’s job performance. Additionally, 70 percent of young voters who are eager to see a younger candidate replace the 81-year-old President do not approve of his handling of Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip.
The poll also indicated that while 51 percent of Democratic voters believe that Israel has “gone too far” against civilians in Gaza, 49 percent oppose the United States providing military aid to Israel. Furthermore, Biden’s approval rating for his foreign policy dropped 8 points from September, with only 33 percent of voters expressing approval.
One of the most striking findings of the survey was that, for the first time, President Biden fell behind former President Donald Trump in popularity, with Trump receiving 46 percent of the votes compared to Biden’s 44 percent. This is a significant shift from June, when Biden outperformed Trump 49 to 45 percent.
Overall, the survey reveals a notable decline in support for President Biden, particularly among young voters, and a shift in public opinion on his handling of foreign policy issues. These findings may have broader implications for the upcoming 2024 elections and the Democratic party’s prospects.
