Bishkek City Hall Signs Investment Agreement with Orta Asya Investment Holding for Energy Project

Bishkek – 09:14, 21 September 2024 – The City Hall of Bishkek has signed an investment agreement with Orta Asya Investment Holding OJSC for the development of the fuel and energy complex. The press service of the municipality made the announcement.

The project aims to construct and operate a combined-cycle power plant with a capacity exceeding 250 megawatts on the premises of Bishkek Heating and Power Plant 2. The investment agreement amounts to $300 million.

“The project is not only set to serve as the foundation for the modernization of the energy infrastructure but also to facilitate the generation of new employment opportunities,” stated the City Hall.

Orta Asya Investment Holding has also committed to constructing a power transmission line to the Ala-Archa substation at its own expense. Additionally, the company will lay a heating line spanning at least 10 kilometers to connect hot water supply and heating to Bishkek’s central system.

This venture is anticipated to significantly contribute to the energy sector of Bishkek and enhance the overall infrastructure of the city.
