Bishkek to Shut Off Heating on March 17

Bishkek to End Heating Season on March 17, 2025

According to the latest information from the Bishkek City Hall, the heating season in Bishkek will officially come to an end on March 17, 2025. This decision was made based on the weather forecast and outdoor air temperature.

The order to end the heating season was signed by Bishkek Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev during a meeting of the operational headquarters for the autumn-winter period. The press service reported that throughout the heating season, all heat supply systems operated smoothly, with the capital’s heating and power plant maintaining an electrical capacity of 450 megawatts.

Efforts to improve energy efficiency were also highlighted, with a significant reduction in coal consumption for electricity generation. Plans for future infrastructure development include the construction of a new combined-cycle plant and a gas piston unit at key locations in Bishkek.

Municipal enterprises responsible for heating equipment have been instructed to shut down their systems in accordance with the end of the heating season. The city looks forward to a successful transition to warmer weather and continued efforts to enhance energy efficiency in the future.
