Book Presentation at Arabahmet Primary School
Turkish Cypriot Professor Vamık Volkan’s Life Remembered at Book Launch Event
The launch of the book “Here is My Story”, about the life of Vamık Volkan, written by Dr. Erdem Beyoğlu and Prof. Dr., took place at Arabahmet Primary School. Sibel Tatar, wife of President Ersin Tatar, also attended the launch event, which featured speeches honoring the Turkish Cypriot freedom struggle leader Dr. Fazıl Küçük and Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş.
The Principal of Arabahmet Primary School, Murat Akpınar, emphasized the importance of being an example to society and praised Vamık Volkan as one of the important names in the world. He expressed pride in Volkan’s life story being shared through the book.
Sibel Tatar highlighted Vamık Volkan’s significance to Turkish Cypriot history and encouraged the children to learn about the history and culture of Cyprus. She expressed gratitude to Dr. Erdem Beyoğlu for writing the book and emphasized the value of learning from successful individuals like Vamık Volkan.
Dr. Erdem Beyoğlu, in his address, underscored Vamık Volkan’s multiple Nobel Prize nominations and stressed the importance of success. Following the speeches, coloring books and copies of Beyoğlu’s book were distributed to the children, making the event a memorable and educational experience for all.
