Brazil Flood Disaster: Death Toll Rises to 37, 70 Missing

The death toll in Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul state has tragically risen to 37 following a devastating flood caused by heavy rains. Additionally, there are currently 70 people reported missing in the aftermath of this natural disaster.
As Brazil grapples with the aftermath of this flood, the loss of life continues to increase. Authorities have expressed concerns that the death toll may continue to rise as the number of missing individuals remains high.
In response to the crisis, over 23 thousand people have been evacuated from their homes due to the floods. Streets have been inundated, roads have been damaged, and bridges have been destroyed in the state.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva visited the flood-affected areas via air, in a state that has been declared a “state of disaster”. Lula assured that the federal government will spare no effort in providing aid and assistance to those affected by the flood. He mentioned, “We will overcome this with great care.”
Our thoughts are with the people of Brazil during this difficult time, and we hope that the missing individuals are found safe and sound as soon as possible.
