British woman tricks luxury hotel in Kusadasi with old wristband for limitless dining and drinks

British Woman Scams 5-Star Hotel in Kuşadası: Enjoyed Free Food and Drinks

A British woman named Roxanne Balciunas managed to scam a 5-star hotel in the Kuşadası district of Aydın, Turkey. Along with her two children, Balciunas wore an old bracelet belonging to the hotel and took advantage of all the facilities for free. This included unlimited food and drink as part of the hotel’s “All Inclusive” package. She even shared her enjoyable moments at the hotel’s pool on her TikTok account, which sparked controversy on social media.

In May of this year, Balciunas, 39, from Sheffield, England, stayed at the 5-star hotel for an all-inclusive holiday with her family. However, when she later found her “all-inclusive wristbands” in her travel bag, she saw an opportunity to have another free vacation. Almost two months later, on July 7, she booked a second trip to the same hotel.

Instead of staying at the hotel, Balciunas opted for a cheap apartment located just 10 minutes away. She then used the outdated wristbands to gain access to the luxury hotel. Balciunas claimed that her intention was to surprise her mother, who was staying at the hotel at the time. However, she couldn’t resist taking advantage of the resort’s all-inclusive features during her 4-day stay.

Footage shared on TikTok on July 12 showed Balciunas and her children indulging in free ice cream and other luxury meals while enjoying the hotel’s pool. She proudly stated on social media, “Call me as many thieves as you want, but I enjoyed a week of free food and drink.”

Balciunas claimed that her family frequently goes on vacation and always stays in four- and five-star all-inclusive hotels. A hotel employee commented that this time the family consumed more than what they had paid for in the five-star hotel.

Explaining her actions, Balciunas said, “My mom booked her vacation just a week ago, it was a last-minute job. I directed my mother towards that hotel, and when I found the wristbands from May, I said, ‘This is great. Before, I was just kidding, saying we’re going to go eat their food.’ At first, I was kidding with the kids, but then I actually did it.”

She admitted that they were not checked for their wristbands when they entered the luxury hotel because the staff could see they were wearing them. Balciunas’s son found the whole situation amusing, exclaiming “Free chips, free food!” every time they ate something.

Although Balciunas expressed that she had a great time using the hotel’s facilities for free, she also expressed concern about the backlash after sharing her videos on TikTok. She mentioned, “I was very worried they would notice, but luckily they didn’t. Sometimes there are different color bands, so we were lucky to have that color band that week. I don’t know if I’ll do this again. They’ve probably seen it because it’s on TikTok.”

While Balciunas’s post received over 900 likes, shares, and comments, social media users expressed varying opinions. Some praised her supposed courage, while others accused her of stealing. The luxury hotel where Balciunas stayed has not made any comments on the incident as of yet.
