Brussels Poetry Challenge Continues in Tribute to Magtymguly’s 300th Anniversary
European Diplomats Join Poetic Challenge in Honor of Magtymguly
The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Brussels recently initiated a poetic challenge in honor of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly, and it has gained the attention of European diplomats.
In a previous report, we highlighted how Magtymguly’s poetry was recited in various languages at the heart of Europe, with local residents and tourists participating in reading the poem “Turkmenistan” (“The Future of Turkmenistan”).
Now, officials from the European Union and different European institutions have joined the poetic relay race inspired by the Turkmen poet. They recited Magtymguly’s poem “Ili gözlär” (“Homesickness”) in English, German, Spanish, and Dutch.
The video shared by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium captures this cultural exchange, showcasing the beauty of Magtymguly’s poetry being shared and appreciated across different languages and countries.
