Caught in the Act: Man Fined 9,325 Lira for Incriminating Social Media Post
Istanbul Police Department Traffic Inspection Branch Directorate teams have recently launched an investigation following images that circulated on social media. The investigation revealed that a motorcycle driver named EA had shared images of his dangerous driving behavior on his social media account.
In one of the images, EA can be heard telling the police teams, “This sound is normal for a 4-cylinder machine, I am not such an idiot driver.” Another post showed footage of him cutting through traffic with scissors.
As a result of the investigation, EA was detained by the police teams and fined a total of 9,325 lira for various traffic violations. This included fines for ‘driving without a rearview mirror’, ‘throwing scissors’, ‘not respecting the following distance’, and ‘disrespectful driving’, all according to the Highway Traffic Law. Additionally, legal proceedings were initiated against EA under the article ‘Endangering Traffic Safety’.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safe and responsible driving on the roads. It is crucial to adhere to traffic regulations and drive in a manner that does not endanger the safety of oneself and others.
