Central Asian countries unite against domestic violence with UN support
During the 57th session of the UN Human Rights Council, a historic joint resolution was adopted unanimously by member states with the aim of eradicating domestic violence. This initiative, developed by Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, garnered widespread support from all Council member states, underscoring the global importance and urgency of addressing this pervasive issue.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry of Kyrgyzstan reported that the primary goal of the resolution is to establish global standards focused on preventing and eradicating all forms of domestic violence.
