Chairman of Turkmenistan Makes Working Visit to Arkadag City
On March 6, the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, paid a working visit to the city of Arkadag to oversee the development and improvement of infrastructure projects for the second stage of construction.
During his visit, Berdimuhamedov stopped at the ring road to inspect the reconstruction work of the street leading to Arkadag. He was presented with projects for the major renovation of the road, and after reviewing them, he proposed incorporating sculptures of Akhal-Teke horses along the highway as symbols of national pride. Information plaques detailing the origin and achievements of the horses will also be placed along the road.
In addition, Berdimuhamedov instructed the creation of bicycle and horse paths on both sides of the highway to promote citizen health and develop national traditions of equestrian sports.
The Chairman of the State Committee for Construction of Arkadag suggested naming the road "Ahalteke atlary" shayoly (Road of Akhal-Teke horses) at the request of residents and horse breeders. This proposal will be sent to the Mejlis of Turkmenistan for consideration.
Berdimuhamedov also held a meeting to discuss preparations for the 4th anniversary of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation. Plans for the celebration include a scientific conference, an exhibition, and meetings with relevant departments. The President of the foundation stressed the importance of cooperation with international organizations like the UN Children’s Fund and the need to improve legislation for the protection and development of children.
The visit continued with an inspection of construction progress in the new city, including the Youth Park and social buildings. Projects for the second stage of Arkadag, focusing on medical facilities, were also presented.
Overall, the working visit emphasized the importance of infrastructure development, cultural preservation, and child welfare in Turkmenistan.
