China Successfully Launches Hayyang 3A Satellite for Ocean Monitoring
In an exciting development, the Chinese agency Xinhua has reported the successful launch of the Hayyang 3A satellite from the Ciuchuen Satellite Center in the Gobi Desert. The satellite was launched into its planned orbital position with the help of a Long March 2C rocket.
This mission marks the 497th successful transport mission carried out by Long March rockets, showcasing China’s expertise in space technology and transportation.
While the news did not provide specifics about the name and orbital location of the satellite, international databases and satellite tracking sites have revealed that the satellite is positioned in a Sun Synchronous Orbit and is named “Hayyang 3A”.
Hayyang satellites, which derive their name from the Chinese word for “ocean”, play a crucial role in providing continuous and dynamic monitoring of various features of oceans, seas, lakes, and rivers from space. Developed by the China Academy of Space Technology, these satellites have the capability to observe the water environment in open seas, island shores, and harbor shores by analyzing it in terms of color, temperature, and matter states.
Of particular note is the fact that Hayyang 3A is the world’s first satellite with high color sensitivity. It is expected to provide remote sensing services for monitoring the utilization of fish resources and marine pollution on China’s sea routes.
This successful launch represents a significant step forward in China’s efforts to utilize advanced satellite technology for ocean monitoring and environmental protection.
