China Opens Doors to Domestic and Foreign Journalists for National Congress Sessions
China has extended an invitation to both domestic and foreign journalists to cover the upcoming sessions of the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in March 2025. This announcement was made by Xinhua News Agency, highlighting the significance of these annual events in the country’s political landscape.
Media coverage of the sessions will be comprehensive, with various media outlets providing on-site reporting. A press center for journalists will be operational starting February 27, offering accredited correspondents the necessary resources to prepare for their coverage of the events.
The 3rd session of the 14th NPC is scheduled to commence on March 5, followed by the 3rd session of the CPPCC on March 4. Journalists accredited in China are required to apply through the press center, while foreign correspondents arriving in the country must coordinate with Chinese embassies or consulates. The deadline for submitting accreditation applications is set for February 18, emphasizing the importance of early registration.
