China’s Role in Easing Pakistan-Iran Tensions

China calls for peaceful resolution of Pakistan-Iran conflict
China has urged for the peaceful resolution of the rising tensions between Pakistan and Iran. Speaking to Geo News television, Chinese official Yang emphasized that Pakistan and Iran are two major countries in the region and the Islamic world and that the Beijing administration hopes that their differences can be resolved through negotiation and other peaceful means.
Yang also stated that China wants to play a constructive role in reducing tensions between the two countries. This comes as Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a series of military attacks on “terrorists’ hiding places” in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province.
Iran has retaliated by targeting the Jaishul Adl organization’s camps in Pakistan with missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. This has led to escalating tensions, resulting in casualties, including the death of 2 children and injuries to 3 girls in the Panjgur region of the Baluchistan province.
In response to Iran’s actions, Pakistan has decided to recall its Ambassador to Tehran and has also informed Tehran that Iran’s Ambassador to Islamabad, currently visiting Iran, may not return for a while.
The Jaishul Adl organization, considered a terrorist organization in Iran, claims to defend the rights of the Sunni Baluch people and has been known to organize armed actions against Iran in the Sistan-Baluchistan province, which is located on the border with Pakistan.
China’s call for peaceful resolution and its willingness to mediate the conflict between Pakistan and Iran reflects the growing concern over the escalating tensions in the region. It remains to be seen how the two countries will respond to China’s initiative and whether a peaceful resolution to the conflict can be achieved.
