CHP Stand Refuses Handshake with Minister Koca
Turkey’s Health Minister, Fahrettin Koca, was in Esenler, Istanbul, where he visited a maternity and children’s hospital to receive updates on the patients. During his visit, Koca also greeted tradesmen and citizens at Dörtyol Square. As part of his visit, he stopped at political party stands, but was met with an awkward moment when he extended his hand to shake the members’ hands at the CHP stand and they refused to shake his hand. Despite the awkwardness, Koca continued his visit, reassuring those around him to “take it easy.” The incident raised suspicion that the attendees at the CHP booth may have been hesitant to shake hands with the Health Minister due to the ongoing pandemic.
