CIA Chief to Meet with Qatar, Egypt, and Israel in Paris

The US Central Intelligence Organization (CIA) Director William Burns is set to meet with officials from Qatar, Egypt, and Israel in Paris, according to reports from the US press. The quadripartite meeting, previously held in Cairo, is expected to focus on discussions regarding the release of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
The news site Axios, based in the US, has reported that the meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, and cited a source familiar with the matter as well as a report from an Israeli official. The discussions are crucial as the US President Joe Biden’s administration aims to reach an agreement on March 10, before the start of the month of Ramadan. The officials aim to ensure a temporary ceasefire during the holy month for Muslims.
A similar meeting took place in Cairo last week, but unfortunately, no results emerged from the talks. The US government is eager to make progress on the issue of the hostages and is seeking the support and cooperation of Qatar, Egypt, and Israel in reaching a resolution. All eyes are on the upcoming meeting in Paris as efforts continue to secure the release of the hostages and establish a temporary ceasefire in Gaza.
