Collaboration for Advancing Deep Technology – Breaking Updates
A new venture capital fund has been established in Turkey to promote innovation and provide support for early-stage technology startups. The J-START Fund, announced at Sabancı University, will focus on deep technology startups originating from academic institutions. The primary goal of the fund is to enhance Turkey’s position in deep technology research and development.
The fund, led by ALJ Türkiye and Europe President & CEO Ali Haydar Bozkurt, will offer extensive support to early-stage entrepreneurs and invest in technology-driven startups. Key innovation areas that will be targeted include artificial intelligence, advanced material technologies, financial technologies, education technologies, smart cities, digital health, big data analytics, and cyber security.
Sabancı University Rector Yusuf Leblebici highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, noting that a significant number of its graduates go on to establish their own companies. By collaborating with ALJ to establish the J-START Fund, Sabancı University aims to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with the necessary resources and support to pursue their dreams of launching successful startups.
Gökhan Eyigün, President of Sabancı Holding’s Strategy and Business Development Group, emphasized the organization’s dedication to supporting the deep technology ecosystem. He expressed confidence that the startups funded by the J-START Fund will not only bring value to Turkey but also achieve success on a global scale through potential commercial partnerships with Sabancı Group companies.
