Committee Discusses Two Draft Laws and One Law Proposal at Economy, Finance, Budget and Planning Meeting
The Republic Assembly Economy, Finance, Budget and Plan Committee met today under the chairmanship of Committee Chairman, UBP Deputy, Resimye Eroğlu Canaltay. The meeting focused on discussing two draft laws and one legislative proposal.
The Committee addressed the “Physical Education and Sports (Amendment) Bill”, “Policies (Amendment) Law Proposal (Proposer: National Unity Party Lefke Deputy Fırtına Karanfil)”, and “Undeclared Incomes of the Deceased and Deaths and the Taxation of Transferred Goods (Amendment) Draft Law.
During the meeting, the Committee completed the general discussion of the Policies (Amendment) Bill and will continue to work on this proposal in the upcoming sessions. Officials from the Ministry of Finance, TRNC Central Bank, and Turkish Cypriot Banks Association attended the meeting as guests and provided their insights on the matter. National Unity Party Lefke Deputy Fırtına Karanfil, the maker of the proposal, also participated in the discussion.
Furthermore, the Committee deliberated the “Undeclared Income of the Deceased and the Taxation of Property Transferred Upon Death (Amendment) Draft”, concluding its article-by-article discussion. The Committee will further examine this Draft Law in the next meeting. Officials from the Ministry of Finance also shared their perspectives on the subject.
Lastly, the committee initiated the general discussion on the “Physical Education and Sports (Amendment) Bill” and will continue to work on it in the following sessions. Officials from the Prime Ministry and the Casino Operators Association attended the meeting as guests and provided their viewpoints on the matter.
Committee Deputy Chairman, CTP Deputy Erkut Şahali, along with Committee Members UBP Deputy Hasan Küçük, CTP Deputy Salahi Şahiner, and UBP Deputy Alişan Şan were present at the meeting. UBP Deputy Hasan Taçoy and CTP Deputy Sami Özuslu also attended the committee meeting to contribute to the discussions.
