Completion of Restoration Project for 118-Year-Old Capital Mosque

The 118-year-old Karahoca Mosque in Karahoca District has undergone a significant restoration process over the past year. The restoration project included strengthening the building, repairing the roof, landscaping, and reworking the embroidery inside the mosque while maintaining its original structure.
The restoration efforts were a result of cooperation between the General Directorate of Foundations and Haymana Municipality. Haymana Mayor Özdemir Turgut highlighted the historical significance of the Karahoca Mosque, a relic of the Ottoman period. The municipality stepped in to register the mosque when it was on the verge of being demolished and subsequently collaborated with the General Directorate of Foundations to restore it to its former glory.
According to Turgut, the landscaping around the mosque has transformed Karahoca District, providing a beautiful square for the community. The official also announced that the planned opening of the mosque is set to take place within the next three months.
The restoration of the Karahoca Mosque signifies a commitment to preserving and revitalizing historical landmarks, ensuring that they remain an integral part of the community for years to come.
